Hi hi family!
TRANSFERS have arrived.
For me, there is a lot of emotion behind this transfer. In the past 4 months, I have ADORED my companions and areas and people and really become who I thought I would be at the end of my mission. But wait! I still have 2 months here! I was very excited to see what God has in store for me for those last two sacred months as His missionary. I have always been told that the final 6 months of a missionary’s mission are the best part. I didn’t understand what that meant until the first day in Osijek... and every day following, my happiness, sensitivity to the spirit, and closeness to the Savoir have increased so dramatically. God still has much for me to do and big plans for me.
SOOO, for my final transfer, I will be a Sister Training Leader and white washing (meaning neither person in the companionship has ever been in this area before) with another newer sweet sister and speaking Serbian in Banja Luka Bosnia. I am so excited to see what the Lord has planned for His children there and what role I get to play in it. I am ready and excited to give my all.
This week was the fastest thing! It was the end for training with Sister Martineau. That alone was crazy. She is a great missionary and I am excited to show her off to her new companion.
We were heading in one night and I saw a woman struggling to get some things inside her door. We ran over and helped her haul her things up to her home and she invited us back for lunch the next day. Service really does soften hearts. Lunch the next day was very interesting haha, but she did call her friend and let me talk on the phone with him and we will get to teach him the gospel! Cool finding moment!
I have been pretty emotional this week about just about everything haha. On Sunday, when we got to church, my favorite person ever was there. My hero member from Karlovac was at church. She was so happy to be able to say goodbye to me before I left Croatia. I bore a very emotional testimony and she hugged me while we sang “God Be With You.” She is my hero. I seriously adore her. It was the best surprise and I know it was an answer to my prayers.
Rijeka has to be one of my favorite cities. I LOVE the members here. Working by the sea brought such a unique feeling to missionary work. I loved climbing mountains and getting sunburns, and most of all, being a missionary! This transfer was incredible. I honestly am without words. I cannot believe I get another one. I don’t think my testimony can grow anymore. Just when I think I can’t love another culture or language, God just keeps switching me haha. There is no way to express how I feel! Humble, grateful, excited, privileged... I feel like a missionary!
I love you all!
