Hi hi!!
WE HAD A BAPTISM!!! In freezing green water! It was so good though! Seeing Brother N. dressed in white made my eyes water a little. Being able to teach him was such a sacred tender mercy! This is my 4th week in the new country and teaching in Croatian... I mean, it doesn't really make sense right? but The gift of tongues is so real and I have received so much help as me and Sister R. prepared him for his first covenant. The preparations for this baptism literally just fell into place. We were so helped to get all the things done that we needed to. The green water was so un-classy but no one even said anything haha. Must be an Osijek thing. Preparations here for baptisms are a lot of work since they don't happen too often, so it takes some time and thought. We were in the church for 12 hours straight haha. The chapel was FILLED with people! As I stood to give my talk... (yes, he asked me to talk at his baptism in Croatian) I wasn't nervous until I realized there were more people in our little church than I have ever spoken in front of on my mission... let alone a different language... and on top of that, it's the foreign language I've had 4 weeks of experience with. UGH! Also, my mission president came. It actually went ok haha. Everyone loved it, and I got so many compliments on my Croatian haha. It was such a miracle that I was able to give a talk. The whole hour was just so spiritual. Watching Brother N. cry was a special moment. The Spirit was so strong. I LOVE BAPTISMS!
This week I also attended my first zone conference in this zone. SO many new people... I remember within my first 2 hours in Slovenia, I had met every single missionary in the zone. It's a little different here. But, I was welcomed as the newest Croatian sister, and everyone was so supportive. President Grant asked me to stand and present the story of the First Vision in Slovene for them all to hear. I surprised them by also giving the message in Croatian. I love the story of the restoration and the miracle by which it came, and knowing the First Vision in two languages now is so special. I feel the Spirit each time I give it. We are focusing on that right now and teaching it effectively. If it is true... which it is, then this is all so awesome. I LOVE THIS CHURCH!
Seminary is still going so well!!!!! I love being a seminary teacher and it really has been so much fun to watch the kids learn.
I love Croatia. I belong here. God is clearing so many paths for us to be able to teach His children here. I LOVE THE GOSPEL! I mean that with all my heart. I love teaching it. I love watching it become alive in others. It has been such a special week. Thanks for your fasting and prayers in my behalf. I feel them!
Much love,
Sestra Higgins
