Hi family!!!
WOW! Ok, I am so sorry for everyone else right now, because my companion and I must be taking all of God’s attention right now. We are seeing His hand in just about everything. So many tender mercies and miracles are happening here in our little Osijek. I am happy here.
At the beginning of our transfer together, Sister R. and I made some goals to help us focus our efforts in the work. We set 3 major goals and then little goals to help us achieve each of these. Goal number 1 was to see someone enter the waters of baptism. We were so happy when we reached that goal, and the joy has not ended as he is really progressing in the gospel with his family now that he has the Holy Ghost. One of my greatest joys has been helping others make covenants with Heavenly Father and watching Him bless them. Goal number 2 was to focus on youth. We have seen God make this possible by giving us the special assignment of being seminary teachers, teaching the Old Testament. We are also working with many younger investigators which has kept us creative. I love working with youth. The gospel is SO evidently blessing their lives. Goal number 3 was easily our hardest one to reach. We wanted to find and teach a family. When I pictured this family, I pictured people who KNEW they needed the gospel. I have prayed harder for this than any other miracle. Here in my mission this is something very hard to do... some might even say impossible. In fact, I have never heard of a family being baptized here. I was reading my dad’s special letter to me this week and noticed how he liked to prove impossible things to be possible on his mission. He is such a good example for me. It’s weird the amount of respect and love you develop for your parents while in the mission field. His stories of not letting others set his limits has kept my faith up and my motivation strong as I have been praying for this family. I am so thankful that God placed a wonderful family in our path. We still made all of our appointments for the day and saw miracles in each. God is helping sister Rollins and I accomplish even the impossible goals to reach. With God...Nothing is impossible.
The future is bright here in Osijek. I could not be happier. I love everything here. I adore my companion. This is what it should feel like all the time. I really didn’t know missionary work could be like this. But it is. And I love it. No complaints from Osijek.
