Hi hi everyone!!
Thank you all so much for the added prayers on my behalf this week! I really felt them and they meant the world to me!!! It was such a crazy busy week, but it turns out it was exactly what I needed. I was supported and rose up to the call of everything that was required of me.
Last Monday while I was taking Sister P. and Sister W. to Zagreb, I got to see Sister N. on her way home. That meant a lot to me to see her. I remember about 1 year ago she was picking me up from that same place. I thought a lot about how much we both had changed in that year. It was good to say goodbye for now. I got to spend last Monday night with Sister R. and J. in another trio. We worked in Karlovac that night. I love those two. We had a really powerful lesson about what God expects from us and obedience to Him. It was so much fun to teach with the two of them and just be around them.
Tuesday was the best day of my life haha. We went to Zagreb to get our new companions. I was bursting with excitement. I could hardly hold it in. When they finally arrived, I jumped up and hugged each of them. They were so darling! The new Slovene sisters told me they had stalked my blog and loved me already and were so excited to be trained by me... I broke the news to them that I had been transferred while they were in the MTC and would be training one of their friends instead haha. It was so cute and sad. I loved them. I knew who I would train the second I met her. She is about 5 feet tall and was just full of energy. She reminded me of me. She kept saying how excited she was to be here and that it wasn’t real. I knew she was mine. Her name is Sister Martineau. She is from New Mexico. She is darling. After they got a little to eat, we went out contacting! Honestly, I was quite nervous about that... seeing how I don’t really know the language either. But I pretended to know what I was doing and took her out. SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!! Within 2 hours of being in Croatia she was teaching people how to pray on the street. The coolest thing... we contacted a 20-year-old girl. She was very interested in our message but told us... unfortunately I don’t live in Zagreb. I live in Karlovac. PERFECT!!!! I was so excited to tell her that’s where I lived and we set up a time to meet. We taught her again yesterday and it was a really powerful lesson with a kneeling prayer. It was so cool to see the Lord work in that way. She even brought her friend. The Lord knows where his missionaries are and gives them success when they work for it. Also during her first contacting experience.... she got hugged. HAHAHA. An old man gave her a proper welcome into the Balkans. Her face was priceless and I was laughing too hard to help. She was laughing too, and the second we got away she asked me if that was allowed. She is so funny. I love her. President announced transfers that night because he knew who went where. We both jumped up and hugged each other. She wanted me too haha. It was so exciting.
The next day, we all went to a baptism in Zagreb. HOW COOL! Their first day there and they get to see a man enter the waters of baptism. I felt it grow their faith in baptism. I know this group will do big things because they are starting out on such a cool first step. At the baptism, they had each of the new missionaries bear their testimonies in the language. That was so cool and powerful. I forgot how powerful a simple testimony can be. It really touched my heart to see the greenie power at work.
With every spare second of time this week we have been talking to people. We only had 1 full day in Karlovac and the Lord knew that. He also knew we were willing to work with any time he gave us. We found a ton of new people and worked hard and had so so much fun. I told her the same thing my trainer told me. The language is only a barrier if you let it be. Her first sit-down lesson, we were able to put a man on date for baptism. That was also really cool to have for her first week. We will be a baptizing companionship I know that!
MLC was also this week. It was hard to switch my focus from training to being a Sister Training Leader but we made it work. It was good to see everyone. This week I have seen every sister in the mission haha. I love them all.
This really was the best week. It was powerful to see the Lord magnify us as we worked hard. We had the energy and language necessary to help His work along this week. I LOVED this week! Probably one of my favorite!
