How does one express this week in words? It was so wonderful! It was frustrating to write in my journal this week, because it took forever to write all of the miracles we saw! It was such a fun week!
Osijek is seeing miracles. We had two baptisms this weekend here! It is such a neat experience being a part of people’s first covenant with God. I was asked to speak again. I spoke on baptism. I love speaking in Croatian. I really do love this language even if it isn’t quite Slovene haha. I felt so much help as I prepared this week to speak. I love baptisms!!!
With Easter coming this week, I have been thinking a lot about our Savior. We have been asked many times, why our church doesn’t have crosses on it. Don’t we believe that Jesus died for us? I LOVE explaining to people that the focus in our church is that Christ LIVES. That He rose from the dead. We have such reason to rejoice! If you haven’t yet, go watch the video the church released for Easter. I love it.
This is my second Easter in Europe (weird thought). It has been cool for me to think about my mindset last time and my understanding of the Atonement... and then to compare to how I feel now with my emotions towards the Atonement and my understanding of who I am and what it all means to me and for those I love. Last year, my companion and I just kind of went through the motions around Easter. This year, with my sweet Sister R., we are focusing our thoughts and work on the resurrection of our Savior. We are spreading the news of His life and love as much as we can. Each day we are reading what He did that day leading up to the resurrection. We are focusing on our love for Him and what He did. This year, Easter is more than a new dress and some candy. This year... I am celebrating the life of someone I love. I love Easter!
Have a great Easter! Seek the spirit of the season! Make someone smile and help spread the good news!
