Hi hi!!!
This week was an absolute joy to live!!!! I am honestly the happiest I have ever been! I feel badly for anyone who was not a part of my week because it was a sight to behold!
For the most part, this week was filled with finding God’s elect children. I love that that is a focus in this area. Opening an area has been such a joy for me! Because I get to focus all my attention on finding people, which is my favorite part of missionary work. I also ADORE teaching, but it really is exhausting. I mean you gotta listen, watch body language, ask questions, follow the Spirit, teach truth and testify of all of it... I love finding! haha It’s like a vacation at the sea.
On Monday night during our daily planning, we looked at the plan for Tuesday and realized our finding time was going to be cut short that day due to district meeting, English class, and other things we had to do. However, we had goals to reach for the week and so we set a goal to find 2 new people who need the gospel. As the day started, I was just in the mood of always finding. While running an errand, I noticed that I was being tested on my commitment to actually find people on such a crazy day. So I stayed positive and kept talking to the people along the way. On the bus ride back home (we NEVER take buses... this was our first time in Rijeka, so this was totally out of our way) we had a small miracle. I heard two girls about my age discussing English tenses, AKA the VERY topic I had prepared to teach in English class (guess what, guys... I am getting really good at English!) I leaned over and introduced myself and asked if they were learning English. They said yes. I told them I am a native speaker and asked if they have any questions. They looked SO relieved to be talking to someone who understood the tenses and could explain it to them in their own language. We got on the topic of why I was good at Croatian and I told them who I am and who I represent. They agreed to meet up with us and listen to our message. SUCH A TENDER MERCY!!! It ended up being the ONLY time we had to talk to people that day, but the miracle was, God really does place people in our paths if we are WILLING to open our mouths and always have that attitude of finding.
I had a very sacred opportunity this week. I had an interview for a new temple recommend. What a PRIVILEGE it was to answer those questions! I felt the Spirit SO strongly and was touched by every question and my ability to answer them. I miss the temple so much. It is such an honor to be a temple recommend holder. I LOVE to see the temple and cannot wait to go inside again.
Of course the highlight of the week was the baptism on Saturday. What a joy it is to help people come closer to Christ through covenants. I seriously love this work. It truly is a marvelous work and a wonder. I had the opportunity to give a talk about baptism for it. I love speaking at baptisms. This was my 3rd time. My language is getting good enough that I could actually make it really personal this time. I got about 10,000 compliments afterward on my language... but what really touched me was my ability to finally express my feelings about baptism to someone whom I have come to care for so much. I was so excited for him and his decision and I was actually able to express that.
This work is such a joy. I love being a part of it.
I love you!
