What a great week as a missionary! Honestly, it was rather uneventful, but I loved it so much!!!! I am so happy all of the time!! The most exciting thing that happened this week was when someone left some Downy in the laundry room to use. I love fabric softener!!!!!
I still love my companions!!! They are so great!
Our Teaching Resource Center (TRC) this week went well! I honestly don't remember it but I remember feeling the spirit and bearing my testimony!
Friday was a weird day! We were all SO tired for really no reason. I am not going to lie -- writing home on Thursday can be emotionally draining!!!! I always need a nap after writing home because its hard! Tiffany sent me a package! I got APPLES!!! and Grandma Higgins sent me olives! I love packages!!!
Saturday was a really good day! Rather uneventful but really good! I got a package from my Momma!!! I loved it so much! It's already gone. And my cute Grandma Call sent me a huge box of doughnuts! That was the best! I seriously love you guys!
For Relief Society on Sunday, Sister Reeves (2nd counselor in the General Relief Society) spoke to us! She is soooo cute!!! I have never seen someone seek the spirit the way she does! I love her!!!! I don't know if I have explained this before but on Sundays here we write a talk... and when we get to sacrament meeting we find out if we have to give it. So everyone writes a talk every week. The idea behind it is -- we will have 10 talks by the time we get out to the field! So great! ANYWAYS! This week I was chosen to give my talk! Right as he said I would be speaking, Sister Burges walked in! (AKA the MTC Presidents wife) I started laughing. Of course this would happen. BUT I stood up and spoke with the spirit and gave my talk on the atonement. It only has to be 3 minutes so it wasn't a huge deal. I actually really loved bearing my testimony to my friends about it!
Here is my talk: As a missionary I have never had to rely on the Atonement more. I do all I can and the Lord makes up the rest!! The atonement can make me a better missionary as I show him faith by relying on his atonement. The atonement is not an auto washer of our sins and weaknesses. We have to actively seek the Savior's hand to be made whole. Time after time the Lord invites us to use the atonement "Come unto me" or "Take my yoke upon you" or "Come follow me" and "Draw near unto me." One of the most though provoking invitations he has extended is in John 5 when he asks "Wilt though be made whole?" As we repent and use our faith, we become whole and our guilt is swept away. we may wonder as Enos "How is it done?" The Lord answers "Because of thy faith in Jesus Christ... wherefore, go to, thy faith hath made thee whole." Elder Dyches of the 70 said "If you feel unclean, unloved, unhappy, unworthy, or unwhole, remember all that is unfair about this life can be made right through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Have faith and patience in the Savior's timing and purposes for you. Be not afraid, only believe. Be assured the Savior still seeks to mend our souls and heal our hearts." May we learn to recognize the atonement of Jesus Christ in our lives and have faith enough to rely on him and be made whole. In the name of Jesus Christ amen.
On Monday I learned to LOVE personal study time. I studied one of my favorite talks by Elder Holland "Are we not all beggars?" go read it!
Tuesday is always a great day! This week for service we got to help clean the senior couple's residence! It's in a secret spot in the MTC and it's like a hotel! SO NICE!!!!! We also got to clean the quarantine area! That was so fun!! We cleaned the floor with tooth brushes and sang Annie songs and laughed and danced around on the towels when we dried the floor. The worker lady took a photo of us on her phone and emailed it to me but it's a terrible photo so don't expect to see that. For gym we went running and did a ton of abs so we were sweaty and gross and had to shower! We only have like 15 minutes to shower so my hair and Sister Rhodes' hair was awesome!
Wednesday was probably one of the most exciting days! We taught our investigator (who we have had to go realllllly slow with) about the priesthood. We taught soo much information and he understood it and said he believed it! Such a great lesson! I love teaching the gospel.
This morning I fell into temptation and ate at the temple again. ugh. It was still a good choice! I love the temple!!!! Favorite place!
I'm sorry this is so boring! This week was uneventful but WONDERFUL!!! There is no place on earth I would rather be. I love this. I love being a missionary! I love having angels walk beside me. I love hearing the spirit in a way I never have before. I love having my mouth speak his words in this beautiful language. I love having his name by mine. I love eating at the temple. I love my companions. I love Slovene. I love teaching this gospel. I love packages (hahahaha). I love my call as a missionary. I love life. I love my Savior. I love this church and this gospel. But most importantly... I love each of you! SOOO MUCH!!! Have the best week!!!
