(Make sure to visit the PHOTOS page for more pictures!) Zdravo Family!!!!!! I can not believe that i have already been in Slovenia for 2 whole months!!! Time is FLYING by! This place owns my heart and I will never be able to leave.
I have been pushed to grow this week and I am pretty torn apart about it haha. Transfer announcements have been made! The good news is, I am staying in Celje!!!! I am SO happy about that! Celje is home and I love the people here more than anything! The members here are so amazing and every single thing about Celje has my heart. I didn't know I was capable of feeling this way about a place and a people, but I do! And I am honored to be serving in Celje again!!! The bad news is... my rock is leaving me. Sister N. is transferring to Ljubliana. I am SO excited for her because Ljubliana is amazing and so cute and I know she will grow there but I am devastated that she will not be my companion for this summer. I miss her already haha. I had the most amazing time being trained! I LOVE my trainer! We made so many good memories this last transfer and it was SO much fun! She pushed me hard and loved me so much! We both grew from each other and I know she changed my life. But the Lord needs here in Ljubliana! So tomorrow, I will drive her to her new companion and say goodbye to one of my dearest friends haha. Wow, I sound dramatic. I will see her all the time at zone conferences, and odds are we will be put together again... but I am still completely torn apart! I will miss her a lot!
My new companion is... SISTER E!!!!!! I am SO excited to serve with her! I learned so much on a 3 day exchange with her I can not imagine what 2 months will do! She will be so great for Celje! I called her to see what groceries she wanted me to buy her and she said "You will probably be the weirdest companion I will ever have on my mission!" Haha so I think she is excited too! I hope so! When I hear her voice on the phone now, I get SO excited to see her! I already love her and can not wait to serve by her side this summer! Transfers are hard and I feel the pain from them. But hey... that's mission life! and I love being a missionary.
I am sure you all are just dying to know how Piran was! SOOOOOOO CUTE!!!!! I loved it! When we saw the sea I remembered how much I love the ocean haha. Piran is the most European little town ever! So darling! The tiny little streets and the maze of the city... I could spend days wandering those streets! It is so cute. The weather was perfect! It had been raining non-stop for weeks, but the sun was out while we were there! It was warm and humid and perfect! When we got there, we walked around the darling streets up to a church and clock tower. The church was incredible inside! Then we climbed some really sketchy stairs to the top of the clock tower to get a view. On the way up, the lady selling our tickets to the top asked where we were from and we told her America! She, like most Slovenes, was SHOCKED that 4 normal-looking Americans were in Slovenia! She was even more shocked that we could speak SLOVENE!!!! it was darling! Sister N. and Elder Davis both said something to her and she was just freaking out about Americans... then I said something to her in Slovene and she laughed and said she doesn't speak English hahahaha. We all laughed for a while about my terrible accent but it's fine. After enjoying the view we went to lunch at a seafood place. Yes dad, I tried fish haha. It actually wasn't that bad! Then we wandered around and got some ice cream. At the point of Piran, where we all stood and took tons of pictures, you can look to the left and see cute Croatia, and then look to the right and see Italy. It was SO cool! I loved standing in Slovenia and seeing two countries. It was one of the best P-days and I slept the whole ride home, so that was nice. I LOVE piran and will have to take you all there one day so we can explore more!!!
I am glad to see you all are doing well! Thanks for the emails! One benefit of being clear in Europe is people tell me lots of secrets haha! I know all the names of the babies coming and it makes my heart happy hahaha. I LOVE hearing about how each of you are doing because I think about you all the time! so keep writing! Even the little things!
Well, the gospel is amazing. It is seriously an honor to share it every day! I have a message about how we can live with our families forever! Just think about how cool that is! I have a message about the atonement and how we can change every day and become better! SO COOL! Because of how cool and amazing and perfect the message is, I can be bold in sharing it! I love being a missionary, you guys!! This place and people own my heart, but the work is a whole different story. I love working. I love walking with angels and feeling the spirit. I am happy! All is well in Celje Slovenia! Working hard, growing lots, and loving always! I love you all!
